Responsible Tourism Showcase Honorees

The ETC Responsible Tourism Showcase recognizes tourism providers for their efforts and accomplishments in exercising Responsible Tourism. All of the responsible tourism applications reviewed for the showcase are evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

1. Making positive contributions to conservation of natural and cultural heritage of areas visited that involve the local people in decisions affecting their lives.

2. Generating greater economic benefits for the community while minimizing negative economic, environmental and social impact.

3. Providing enjoyable experiences for tourists that engender respect between them and the community.

2008 Showcase Honoree
 
One exemplary program was selected as the 2008 Showcase Honorees and received $1,000 for the nonprofit projects they helped develop and support.

2007 Showcase Honoree
 
One exemplary program was selected as the 2007 Showcase Honorees and received $1,000 for the nonprofit projects they helped develop and support.
  
 Nilda Callanaupa, The Center for Tradational Textiles of Cusco, accepted the honoree recognition on behalf of their project with Culture Xplorers Weavers Awards. Click here to read more about their project.
  
 2006 Showcase Honorees
  
 Two exemplary programs were selected as the 2006 Showcase Honorees and each received $1,000 for the nonprofit projects they helped develop and support.

Eliana Pauca, All Ways Travel, accepted the honoree recognition on behalf of the tourism committee of Anapia island and the Association for Sustainable Tourism Development (ADETURS). Click here to read more about their project.
