The Louis Armstrong International Airport serves New Orleans and is conveniently located about 15 miles from the Central Business District and French Quarter, close to the Marriott Hotel. It is a short ride into the city whether you go by taxi, shuttle, bus, or limousine.
Taxis serve the airport and transfers to/from the French Quarter cost approximately $29 USD one way. It is best to take a professional taxi or limo service for airport transfers. A list of limo companies is posted on the airport transportation page of the New Orleans Convention and Visitor Bureau site. Local firms know the parade routes which must be avoided when traveling in/out of the city pre-Mardi Gras.
If you arrive in New Orleans by AMTRAK or Greyhound Bus, Union Terminal is located centrally and served by RTA buses, limos, and taxis. To reference an interactive map of New Orleans click here.
