The ETC audience assembles an international group composed of top-level decision makers for special interest group travel representing large, medium, and small sized travel programs and organizations, from both the non-profit and for-profit sectors.

Three distinct groups attend the conference:

Large and small travel programs are represented from alumni associations; art, museum and cultural organizations; zoos and conservation groups; science and natural history museums; and national and regional nonprofit organizations and affinity groups.

The ETC attendees represent an international group composed of top-level decision makers from successful travel programs at alumni associations, museums and nonprofit organizations. Usually 160-210 nonprofit travel planners from across the USA and Canada participate in the Educational Travel Conference (ETC) each year. The agenda is designed to support the professional development needs of key decision makers and support staff of travel programs at nonprofit institutions, such as: art, science and natural history museums; alumni associations; alumni, continuing and international education departments; zoos and aquariums; conservation and preservation organizations, national affinity organizations and associations.

Some of the participants are: American Museum of Natural History, Stanford Alumni Association, Oakland Museum of California, Arizona Alumni Association, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Washington & Lee University, Philadelphia Zoo, California Alumni Association - Berkeley, Harvard Alumni Association, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Smithsonian Institution, The Nature Conservancy, World Wildlife Fund and San Diego Zoo, UCLA Alumni Travel, Alumni Association of the University of Michigan.

Represented are destinations in the USA, Canada, Latin America, Europe, South Pacific and Australia, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
